END OF YEAR WRAP-UP: BRIEF COMMENTARIES

1   Afghanistan

The Associated Press reports that the Taliban is returning to areas once cleared by foreign forces, as the U.S. announces its conclusion to the combat mission…which had been announced long in advance. That was very good strategy — for the enemy – they always like to know the forecast in advance. Taliban insurgents have actually announced their defeat of U.S. and allies in the 13-year conflict. Does anyone want to make bets whether or not Afghanistan will return to terrorist rule and women will return to total subjugation?

2   Police

Cops – nationwide – have had it with the hard core campaign to demonize all officers of law enforcement who keep our towns and cities safe 24/7, risking their lives every day on behalf of the citizens. It may not have been classy, but the turning of backs by uniformed cops to those who wrongly degrade and accuse police of systemic wrong doings was well earned by the mayor of New York City, which also stands as symbolism for all the anti-police naysayers, including the president and his hateful attorney general. They certainly have handled these incidents wrongly, including the governor of Missouri, considering the fact that the two incidents targeted for protests were never the result of racial profiling at all.  This is called manufacturing a protest when there is nothing to protest. Police morale is at an all-time low, which does not bode well for American citizens in general.

3   The Foreign Stage

Russia, Ukraine, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, ISIS, Egypt, China, North Korea, Boco Haram, al Qaeda, Somalia, Pakistan, Iran, Israel, Turkey, and et al. Name one place where conditions and/or relations have improved in the last six years. Perhaps we could say that Egypt is better, having recovered from the year of Sharia law under Mohammed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood, but the Egyptians did that on their own via the will of the people, overthrowing the Brotherhood despite their support by Obama and Hillary. We certainly don’t hear much about Egypt from the administration since Morsi failed.

 3   Christian Genocide

Little is heard from President Obama or the United Nations about the barbaric killings of Christians – adults and children – and burnings of Christian churches throughout the middle-east. According to Wiki-Islam, a Christian is killed every five minutes for their beliefs. Nine of the top ten countries that practice Christian persecution, are Islamic countries. In 2012, Turkey was considered in the top 16 of worst countries for Christian persecution. A secular study shows that Christianity is in danger of being totally wiped out in biblical heartlands because of Islamic oppression.  Where is the voice of the UN? Where is the voice of the free world?  Where is the voice of America?

 4   Most Admired

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have been named “Most Admired” male and female in a Gallup Poll.  Juxtapose that to every competent poll that cites Obama’s track record as president meets disapproval by 50 percent, or more, of voters. Hillary Clinton is certainly the most famous, but it’s inconceivable that she would be admired by voters who can read and write. This is a Secretary of State who accomplished nothing in office other than racking up travel miles and hundreds of photo-ops, who bolted from sight for three months after the Benghazi attack leaving four Americans dead, and who supported the Muslim Brotherhood, and who traveled with her top aide for fifteen years…a Saudi woman who family relatives are all connected to the Muslim Brotherhood…and organization dedicated to the destruction of America. Admired? Are we kidding?

 5   ISIS

The Islamic State, who President Obama claims is “not Islamic,” has commandeered Iraq and parts of Syria, and are moving forward toward Lebanon, Jordan and the Gaza Strip. Bombing raids from U.S. military appears to have accomplished little as the terror organization continues to grow and non-Muslims are facing forced conversions or death by grotesque means, including the live beheadings of children. What is even more worrisome, is where the ISIS is heading once the conquer their present goals, because it certainly isn’t going to stop there. Once they commandeer Gaza and other nations, they will have to face Egypt where they denounced fundamentalism two years ago. And of course, tiny Israel sits surrounded by enemies on three sides as our president denounces Israel for building new homes. Hmmm

 6   Illegal Immigration

Of course, we know there is no such thing anymore.  “Illegal” has always meant that strict laws were in existence and that the breaking of those laws rendered the law breakers guilty, and subject to punishment/deportation.  Such laws have been diminished to non-laws by our administration, basically allowing people to flood our nation at will while tying the hands of law enforcers from doing their jobs. What people don’t realize is that 40 percent of illegal immigration comes from overstayed visas, thousands of whom come in from Islamic countries.

One can only imagine where this is going in the next generation.

 7   2014 Celebrity Deaths

All death are tragedies and great losses for those who loved them. But we treat celebrity deaths with great reverence only because they were known and loved by millions, not a few.  Topping the list as the greatest losses in 2014, for this blogger, are:  Robin Williams, Joan Rivers, Mike Nichols, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Lauren Bacall, James Garner, Ariel Sharon, Shirley Temple, Sid Caesar, Mickey Rooney, Maya Angelou, Eli Wallach, James Brady.

 8   The “Interview” Movie Fiasco

Bottom line:  Free speech won out. Other nations cannot intimidate America with threatening rhetoric, from expressing our 1st amendment rights. Sony capitulated and went for the “risk” despite threats from North Korea, and showed the movie in select theaters which, thus far, has not resulted in violent acts. But…has anyone ever wondered why there has never been a major movie out of Hollywood about the life of Muhammed or the origins of Islam? Every other major figure in ancient history has a bio film to his/her credit…but not this one.  And, there never will be. Such is the example that fear and intimidation really does work.

 9    Overpopulation?

The United States population has increased 11 million people in the last four years, now boasting a total of over 320 million people.  That’s more than double since Eisenhower was president.

 10  Happy New Year

Wishing all my readers a healthy and happy 2015. Thanks for indulging my writings and for all your insightful comments, even if we don’t always all agree.

A FRANK MOVIE REVIEW: "THE IMITATION GAME" = 9

Benedict Cumberbatch.
Sound familiar? Well, remember that name. He is a fabulous actor certain to ne mentioned among Academy Award nominations on February 22nd, 2015.
Actually, Mr. Cumberbatch has appeared in at least twenty motion pictures since 2002, mostly in supporting or small roles. But in The Imitation Game, he plays the lead role as the brilliant English mathematician, Alan Turning, who is believed by many to be the key person in the invention of the modern day computer.
Because of his utter genius, Turning was brought in to the British government during the early stages of WWII to develop a system for decoding messages of the Nazi war machine. Being somewhat of a savant, his social skills were unorthodox and difficult to follow.  But despite many obstacles, he managed to do what no other human being could ever do, which made him a hero of sorts who never received the recognition he deserved.
Turning faced many obstacles in his lifetime which I’ll omit from this review, allowing the viewer to discover such a great example of human frailty.
This is a drama. No music. No “F” words. No sex. Not even rolling and crashing cars on the Interstate highways. It is a deep story, based on true events about human beings facing struggle. It gives us an important plot and amazing actors, particularly Cumberbatch who is sure to be nominated for an Oscar.
Seasoned actress Keira Knightly, who plays opposite of Cumberbatch as a peer genius of sorts, is equally gifted as an actress, having to deal with the many weaknesses and strengths of the Turning character. Folks might remember her from her starring role in Anna Karenina.
Go see The Imitation Game.  The picture is engaging, holding our attention from beginning to end. I wish there were more movies of this quality.
     I would give this a 9 out of 10.

KNOWING MAYOR BILL DEBLASIO

Deblasio

The people to blame for much of the baseless protesting and disorder concerning police officers in New York and elsewhere, are the electorate.  When people elect candidates in the likes of Bill DeBlasio into high government positions, they get their reward. If Americans would do their homework and delve into the background and ideologies of candidates, they might see through the facades and false impressions that elect such dangerous agendas. If Mayor DeBlasio is the best there is to offer citizens of New York City, the city is in trouble.

The problem is that voters en masse care mostly about single issues, i.e. welfare, immigration, socialism, abortion, etc. Rarely do they truly dig into the archives to see who America is really voting into office. If the voters had dug deeper, this is what they could have learned about DeBlasio:

DeBlasio is not just a left-wing democrat. He is so far to the left it smacks of another political entity that we once considered a vital threat to the nation. During the 1980’s DeBlasio was an ardent supporter of the Marxist Sandinista government of Nicaragua. In his campaign, he was supported by, and cozied up to, the Nicaraguan  Solidarity Network of greater New York, described by many publications as a Communist front organization.  In Nicaragua, the organization was responsible for the bombing the last Jewish synagogue  in that country, which drove the local Jews totally into exile.  In September of 2013, the New York Times noted:

Mr. DeBlasio became an ardent supporter of the Nicaraguan revolutionaries. He helped raise funds for the Sandinistas in New York and subscribed to the party’s newspaper, Barricada, or Barricade. When he was asked at a meeting in 1990 about his goals for society, he said he was an advocate of “democratic socialism.”

     Defined: Marxism.

Of course, to get himself elected, he had to amend his identification with anti-American ideology so he renamed himself as a Progressive Democrat.

In her 10/31/13 article for The Daily Caller, African-American writer Marjorie Romeyn-Sanabria, cites a myriad of nefarious red flags in DeBlasio’s background which should have alarmed any voter, liberal or conservative. See link, below.  She writes:

De Blasio has also been endorsed by SEIU 1199, one of the East Coast’s largest unions. In addition to its size and influence, SEIU 1199 has communist origins, even going to far as loaning its space for an event honoring the life of alleged Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez

The most worrisome detail in this ménage a communiste might be de Blasio’s relationship with ACORN, the disgraced grassroots organization alleged to have committed voter fraud. Some of de Blasio’s top campaign members came directly from ACORN, and his top advisers during his time as public advocate were either top organizers at ACORN or leaders within the Working Families Party, with whom ACORN keeps close ties.

During his campaign, and since his election, DeBlasio’s anti-police sentiments have been made clear, even before cameras, putting foot-in-mouth following the tragic death of Eric Garner, claiming – basically – police are inherently racist.  Never mind that the NYPD cops are a majority of black officers. Never mind that the Eric Garner death clearly had nothing to do with systemic racism or profiling.

New York City has seen near-miraculous reductions in violent crime in all five boroughs during the 16-year mayoral reigns of Guilliani and Bloomberg. In 1990, the city racked up 2,245 homicides. Since, the murder rates have plummeted, with as few as 419 in 2012. Much of that success is attributed, not only to the mayors, but the Commissioners of Police who were anointed with the powers of stop and frisk and other effective policing methods to keep the streets safe. During his campaign, Mr. DeBlasio promised to put a halt to such policies.

Why fix something that’s not broken?  Less murders means less victims of crime.  New York’s drop is over 80 percent. That equates to more lives saved, less fear in the streets and less violent crime in general.

The losers of the DeBlasio edict will be the citizens of New York City, who are the victims of violent crime. The winners will be the anarchists and felons who are emboldened with an ally in the mayor’s office. Former Police Commissioners Ray Kelly and Bernard Keric, along with former Mayor Guiliani and Governor Pataki, have been harshly critical of DeBlasio’s attitude toward police. See link,

DeBlasio received nearly 100 percent support by the New York City Muslim community after he promised to put a halt to any police surveillances of Islamic organizations and mosques. Never mind, that 99 percent of terrorism, and the threat thereof, is rooted in Islamic bases, including some mosques. Of course, not all Muslims are terrorists, but just about all terrorists are Muslims, and many have been documented as frequenters of local mosques, where radical ideologies are professed. Hancuffing the police is a blessing to terrorist plotters and a danger to law abiding citizens.

The question is, whose side is he on?

If we are to preserve the union, voters must begin vetting their candidates beyond slogans and photo ops.

OPEN SEASON ON POLICE OFFICERS

“WHAT DO WE WANT?”

“DEAD COPS”

Such chants came from protesters in New York City last week.  They got their wish. No one knows how far this will go.

The mayor of New York City, along with Sharpton and Holder and the president, have ratcheted up the hate meter, instilling anti-police fervor throughout the nation. Mayor DiBlasio, along with Police Commissioner Bratton by his side, appeared at a press conference following the double execution of two officers sitting in their police car, to tell us how terrible it was.

Too late, Mr. Mayor.  Some of that blood is on your hands.

“People need to know that black lives matter,” he said in an offensive one-sided speech at the Police Academy. All his rhetoric has been in support of protesters, as though they are indubitably right and police are inevitably wrong. The cops have been tried and convicted by the reverse racists of America, and in some parts of the media. It didn’t have to come to this. The leaders who were most responsible to ensure peace and justice was maintained, screwed it up royally.  Include in that bunch, the governor of Missouri who made sure the rioters could have a looting and burning party at will in Ferguson when, in truth, viable options were open to him to prevent it.

Fact:  The deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown had nothing to do with racial profiling. Sorry, that doesn’t fit within the agenda of reverse-racists of America. The Sharpton-led protesting has been manufactured over invalid assumptions, much like the bogus rape charge by Tawana Brawley in 1987, which should have rendered Sharpton’s credibility defunct from the start.

The head of the NYPD union, Patrick Lynch, publically declared that the New York mayor has thrown cops under the bus. He’s right.

There are over 35,000 police officers in New York City. Their poor morale is bound to affect job performance. Many cops will think twice from here on, knowing they have enemies in city hall, state capitols and in Washington. Look for reactionary policing, not proactive policing in the future. That won’t spell good news for innocent citizens relying on cops to keep the lid on crime rates. White officers will be hesitating in arrest situations, worried about castigation and false charges of racism, just because the perpetrators happen to be black. Such hesitation could make the difference between life and death.

I’ve been connected to the law enforcement profession for 54 years. I have never seen a divide like this between government administrators and the cops.  When DiBlasio appeared before cameras to extend condolences for the two officers ambushed in Brooklyn, the room full of police officers stood up, and in unison, turned their backs on the mayor.  That’s unprecedented.

Click here: VIDEO: NYPD officers turn away from Mayor de Blasio as he enters police presser for cops murdered by #jihad | Pame

A week before the assassination of Officers Ramos and Liu, two NYPD lieutenants were attacked and beaten by a group of blacks on the Brooklyn Bridge…for no reason, other than they were police officers.

Click here: Two NYPD Officers Beaten Near End of Peaceful March – WSJ

There are many more nutballs out there, inspired by hate stories of racist cops, when in fact, they were not true to begin with. The media has responsibility in these matters as well, but it’s the government incompetents with a special agenda who set the blaze afire with their hateful pomposity.

The anti-police rhetoric of so-called leaders like Sharpton, Holder, DiBlasio and the president have invigorated the avengers and emboldened thugs who are playing out the terror. The words of Holder, Sharpton and DiBlasio are just as dangerous as a thug with a gun.

You see where this is going, folks.  And it’s not good. There will likely be more.

Leadership begins at the top. The despicable Al Sharpton is a regular guest in the White House, having been logged in more than 60 times in Obama’s reign. Why does our president award an anarchist like Al Sharpton a welcome mat?  Why does Barack Obama, an American president, lend an ear to the hate vitriol of Al Sharpton?

Those who would bring down our wonderful country join in with the hate America campaign.  Hate organizations and protesters given legitimacy, even support, by our cabal of anti-American leaders, are identified in this piece, linked here:

Click here: Communists, Socialists, Anarchists, Unionistas Protest Over Ferguson | www.independentsentinel.com

     What can be done?

     DiBlasio:  Resign from office

Sharpton:  Should be charged with inciting riots

Eric Holder:  Should be held accountable for a myriad of offenses, including lying under oath to congress.

Governor Nixon of Missouri: Should be held accountable for failing to deploy National Guard soldiers the night of the Ferguson riots.

President Obama:  Flip-Flop, and censure Al Sharpton and Eric Holder, and all race-baiters for igniting this entire fiasco.

NYPD Police Commissioner Bratton:  Do the right thing – Step forward and publically denounce the mayor’s stance against police officers, and publically declare that NYPD officers did not racially profile in the Eric Garner case. His words would carry more weight than any public official in the country.

I know. Don’t hold your breath.
