MILEY CYRUS: ART OR DEBAUCHERY?

Miley Cyrus is a classic example of what has gone wrong in America.  For more reasons than one.

In case you missed the latest performance of the “matured” Miley Cyrus at the 2013 VMA Award show, take a few seconds to check out the video.  It’s video #2, scroll down, (after the 30 second commercial, sorry):

Just what we want for our impressionable kids, an American role model feigning dry sex on stage with some male stud, holding an oversized suggestive finger, slinging her tongue around like a whip and prancing half naked to what some people think is music.

I have a beautiful 9 year-old great-granddaughter, who might think that Miley Cyrus is a cool lady. It worries me. I hope she never sees this performance, because it shatters the purity of youth and everything we don’t want in terms of values for our kids as they grow up. Yet, announcers delight in the extremism and praise her performance as though it had anything to do with talent.

I may be an old fogey, but I consider myself fairly open and liberal in trying to adjust to modernization. I know all the arguments about Elvis and his Pelvis in the Ed Sullivan Show, but there must be a limit somewhere, sometime, somehow. What will it all become in another fifty years, naked orgies on stage in future music shows, no holds barred, showing our kids that unlimited drugs and sex is the way to go? Probably.

And while we’re talking about the despicable Miley Cyrus, let’s talk drugs. This girl, who is an icon to millions of other girls who grew up loving her as Hannah Montana, openly and proudly announces the joys of pot, how great it is to get high and tacitly recommends drug use to kids. (See link below) Never mind that studies have proven that early and regular use of pot has many harmful effects, to an including; 1) reducing I.Q.  2) Lethargy, lack of ambition  3) Memory impairment 4) Paranoia and schizophrenia  5) Driving impairment and 6) Yes, it can be addictive to people prone to addiction which then make it 7) A gateway to other more dangerous drugs

Good going Miley. Whatever the good parents in this country are trying to achieve by guiding their kids into a safe, moral and productive life, you work at tearing down. You have abandoned your role as an icon for young people in this country by endorsing immorality, indecency and the bottom of the values pool.

At least Elvis Presley had talent and he worked his way to stardom on the bedrock of natural talent, neither of which Miley Cyrus knows anything about. If she were not born to a famous performer with a silver spoon in her mouth, she would just be another plan-Jane cheerleader in some school campus. Without her entourage, she’s nothing; she can’t sing, she can’t dance and she can’t act. She’s at her place in life thanks to her wealthy father.

And while we’re at it, let’s talk about Billy Ray Cyrus for a moment, a mediocre country singer who rose to stardom as a one-hit wonder. Billy Ray was asked about his daughter’s actions on a recent talk show where – as a father – he basically excused, dismissed and endorsed his daughter’s public antics saying: “That’s my Miley. She’s an artist.”

Good going Billy Ray. You just legitimized debauchery to a few million young people. You are not only gutless but a poor excuse of a father who should set and hold standards for your kids and their morals. A father’s (and mothers) role in life is not to be liked, but to be respected. It’s obvious Miley didn’t respect her parents nor does she care what he thinks or feels, she’s got him pegged and he cowers in the face of upholding standards.

This was a father’s opportunity to say, “I don’t approve.”  That’s all it would take. The impression would be everlasting, and whatever damage it caused to their relationship would be repaired with the healing of time and maturity. At least he would have set a standard, that parents do not want to see and hear their kids like that. And when Miley Cyrus reaches age 30, 40 or 50, she’ll look back with disdain at her own actions.

Entertainers, especially the rappers, the singers and the very young, implant a huge impression on the lifestyles of young kids, not just the upper teens, but the6, 9 and 11 year-old many of whom, these days, have unbridled access to the world of depravity through electronic media. Such is the challenge for good parents who work hard at guiding and loving their kids into safe, moral and productive lives.

Too bad that didn’t work so good for Miley.

HOLOCAUST 2013: DESTROYING CHRISTIANS

The Religion of Peace continues to make their mark by murdering masses of innocent people in cold blood for not being Muslims, or worse, for being Christians and Jews. Sometimes, they kill their own innocent women and children because they aren’t the same ilk of Islam, Sunni vs Shiite. Oh yes, we’re only talking about a “few radicals” who “hijacked” Islam because the rest of the Islamic world are allegedly peaceful. Right? Those few radicals have amassed multi-millions of dead bodies over the centuries, and still counting while the rest of the Muslim world stands by mute.  Ho-hum.

One might ask, “What are the peaceful “moderate” Muslims doing about the so-called “hijacking? Where is their outcry? Where is their resistance to murder, jihad and anti-Christian and anti-Jewish discrimination?”

     Silence.

So, here’s the wrap-up for this past week:

  • Nairobi, Kenya. At the mall. 68 dead, 175 injured in a slaughter by a group of Islamic radials who separated the non-Muslims from the Muslims before shooting people dead. Apparently, four of the terrorists are American bred.
  • 81 Christians killed in a suicide bombing of a church in Peshawar, Pakistan.
  • 90 people killed by a suicide bomber in Sadr City, Iraq, apparently targeting Shiites by Sunnis.
  • A sectarian suicide bomber kills a dozen more at a funeral in Baghdad

In all this past week, there have been 56 Jihad attacks around the world leaving 511 people killed and hundreds more injured. Just one week.

Can you imagine living in daily fear, as these people do? Constantly?

The Muslim Brotherhood, which has spearheaded the rebellious uprisings throughout the middle-east have made their stamp on the status of other religions…that are not Islamic.  Christians are on the run in Pakistan, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Nigeria, Libya, and etc., with dozens of churches burned and hundreds killed in the last year just for being Christian.

Christian churches have also been desecrated by Muslims in Bosnia

Nigeria is considered the most dangerous country on earth if you are a Christian. More Christians have been killed by Muslims in Nigeria than all other countries combined in 2012.

The African nation of Mali is under siege by radical Muslims imposing Sharia law and killing by the hundreds and burning churches.

Christian churches are being burned in Indonesia, Ethiopia, India, and more, all by Muslims. It is a virtual holocaust, only this time it is being perpetrated by a global ideology, not an individual country. And if you think the churches (and synagogues) in Canada and the U.S. are not in the future crosshairs of Islamists, you must being living in a cave. It’s inevitable.

     Time to wake up, folks.

Where is the voice of Christians in the western world? Where is the outrage?  Where is our “Christian” president on all these atrocities?  Hello??? I can’t hear you!

The president has been supportive of the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya, Egypt, Tunisia and now Syria, while mum about the Christian targets of Islamic terror.

Our president and members of our inept government on both sides of the aisle, have been supporting the despicable Muslim Brotherhood in the various conflicts, providing arms and money, citing atrocities by Assad and Mubarak and Ghadaffi, while ignoring the evil inhumanity being perpetrated by the Muslim Brotherhood all over the middle-east.

Bear in mind, the Muslim Brotherhood is the umbrella organization for thirty-one “accepted” power organizations that have infiltrated the U.S., including the ISNA, MSA, MOA, CAIR and 27 other splinter groups, all of whom have a powerful influence in our current White House, State Department, Justice Department, Homeland Security, Military, and elsewhere.  The Muslim Brotherhood was the training ground for Osama Bin Laden, which spawned al Qaeda, HAMAS and other terror groups.

And all we little people blather about is republicans versus democrats, while the ship sinks. Our country’s leadership bans the mention of Islam as a source of terror, in FBI and military training, under orders by our president.

     READ THAT LAST SENTENCE PLEASE.

What is happening around the world is a frightening omen for what’s on the horizon in the western world. It is bad, folks.  It will be even worse for our children’s children, if we don’t stand up against tyranny, even if they call it a religion.

Jihad is struggle for conquest. It has been that way for 1400 years.

Heads out of the sand, everyone. Follow the evidence and you’ll see the truth. Do not believe politicians.

Some readers dismiss Bill O’Reilly as a Fox News right-winger. Regardless, many of his commentaries are spot-on, one of the few news commentators willing to be politically incorrect, even if it means being honest. His commentary in the following link puts it together quite well, especially in the first three minutes.

PROFILE, PROFILE, PROFILE

Everybody profiles. Whether people will admit it or not, it’s human nature.
In 1999, after I’d published a Miami Herald article justifying the act of profiling in some circumstances, I was interviewed by ABC’s John Stossel who was doing a 20/20 program on the topic. I soon realized he was formulating questions designed to make me seem racist. I was telling him that, in certain circumstances, profiling is a necessary element for effective police work.  I turned the tables and posed a question back.
“John, when you first heard about the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995, what was the first thing that came into your mind?”
His eyebrows lifted.  “Arabs,” he said.
     “John, you just profiled.”
     The producer shouted, “Cut!”
The interview never aired. But I had made my point.
Sometimes, suspicion can be hard to define. Body language. Dress. Movement. Yet, suspicion is, and should be, an integral part of policing.
A car weaving across lanes of traffic after midnight is a profile for drunk driving.  A parade of shoddy looking men and women frequenting a tenement apartment at all hours of the night is a possible profile for drug activity. A derelict, any color, stumbling around filthy and half-dressed in an upscale housing development is a profile, a sign that something is out of place. Two teenage kids cruising around in a $70,000 car, where ninety-nine percent of the residents are another ethnic/racial make-up, is a profile.  Sorry.
If crimes have been reported describing a Mid-eastern looking male, black beard, mid-east accent, should we stop and frisk all redheads, pimple-faced teens and one-legged war veterans, just to be fair?
George Zimmerman’s neighborhood had been victimized by a number of thefts and break-ins. Judging by those who had been apprehended and/or under suspicion, the profile of the perpetrators were young black males.
In 1979-81, Atlanta’s serial child killer was profiled by possible witnesses to be a young black male. The cops used that profile to pursue the investigation. That’s good police work.
In order to appease the Islamic world, American airports routinely grope and search little grandmas from Iowa, wheelchair cripples, girl scouts and even celebrities to show how the authorities are not profiling Muslims or mid-eastern people. Yet, in truth, 97 percent of all international terrorism is rooted in Islam.
We could be adopting the model of the safest airline system in the world; El Al. Israel makes no apologies. They do not grope or X-ray every man, woman and child. They follow a few simple rules:
     1) Agents ask passengers a short series of questions — four or five — to determine origin, nationality and other factors, then observe the physical manner and characteristics. Though unspoken, yet in truth, Muslims and/or Arabs will get a second look before non-Muslims. If there is any doubts about a passenger, they X-ray or search further.
     2) An armed Air Marshal is aboard every flight. Terrorists know this in advance. It changes the game plan for terrorists knowing that armed security is on board.
Israel is hated throughout the Arab states. Yet, El Al has never had a terror attack.
Bottom line:. Profiling works. Israel profiles passengers, especially Muslims. Why? Because Islamic radicalism is the profile for international terrorists.
Indiscriminate profiling based on race is absolutely unacceptable. But when a series of crimes have been linked to a certain description, which includes race, police would be remiss in doing their job if they did not profile. Profiling solves crime, prevents crime and makes our community safer. That’s the job of security and police.
Police officers and security personnel of the 21st century walk an insidious tightrope, teetering between doing their jobs and protecting their butts, “damned if you do, damned if you don’t.”  I subscribe to the old adage: Better safe than sorry.  Better to harass a few people now and then if it translates to protecting innocent people from rape, robbery and murder.  Isn’t that what a cop is paid for?
People who are fast to accuse and put cops on the defensive are not serving their communities. They are contributing to law enforcement paranoia and their reluctance to be proactive.
Meanwhile, the airport experience could be streamlined and made more efficient. Homeland Security and the TSA could learn a lot from the success of others.
     No. That would be intelligent.
