I have followed Bill Randalls Campaign, off
and on, for a few months now, so thanks for
returning my attention to his run for NC 13.

Bill Randall got the most votes in the GOP
Primary but with 4 candidates, did not make
the 40% min. for a lock on the nomination.

I think it apparent to everyone that we need to dismantle the political machines in DC, in our individual states and in our communities. Hopefully it will be done intelligently by keeping informed (reading this forum) and doing a little independent research on each candidate. Let’s clean house but let’s not jump from the frying pan into the fire. It’s only about 80% that need to go, the other 20% are trying to do the right thing.

It was my understanding that you claim to be an Independent, yet, for all I see, you are nothing more than a Neo-Liberal Conservative Supporter.

Mr. Frank, allow me to introduce you to a one Justus Möser (December 14, 1720, Osnabrück – January 8, 1794, Osnabrück, Germany. As a jurist and social theorist, Möser was considered the first ‘German’ Conservative Thinker. His views of early modern capitalism and its affects on his contemporary world can be best understood by reading this article by Jerry Z. Muller, professor at Catholic University:

The key to my bringing up all of this about Möser rests wholeheartedly within the context about what ‘conservative’ means today. I believe that I possess certain qualities or characteristics based fundamentally in the ideas held by Möser, e.g. that the capitalist onslaught brought about by the industrial revolution utterly destroyed the culture and livelihoods of many a people. Möser’s hero was the Artisan-Citizen and independent peasant, his villains, the shopkeeper and the peddler.

Most of all – he focused a great deal of his social theory on the notion of specialization, which you can read in the Muller article.

I will remind of you of what this means:
taking people from their livelihoods and placing into dependency upon ‘wages’, or ‘wage labor’, and thus, while production creates wealth, the dependent laborer, now forced to sustain himself on a low wage while the ‘owner’ keeps the profits.

Now, without getting into my own views of capitalism and why reforming this ism is useless, allow me to focus on this idea of ‘conservative’ in a modern context.

What you are seeking to conserve in America, as a ‘conservative’, today is nothing more than that which Justus Möser sought to keep from overwhelming his heroes in the late 18th century. While of course this is the past, Möser wrote his ‘History of Osnabrück’ (published in 1768) came almost a decade before the Declaration of Independence here in America.

And, in my view, Möser’s opposition to capitalism was ‘conservative’ in all aspects, viz. that it would destroy more than it would conserve, that the superior productivity of capitalism was its most threatening aspect.

So, now I turn to this NC candidate, Bill Randall, who says he will “sponsor legislation that cuts redundant and unnecessary Federal programs and agencies”, and “[to] reduce the tremendous tax burden placed on businesses and individuals, thus enabling meaningful growth in the private sector of our economy. He says that “[he] will take action to remove all burdensome and unnecessary government regulations that impede profitability.”

Mr. Frank – honestly, ‘tremendous tax burden’? It is my understanding that taxes (excluding the damnable Income / Labor Tax) are at their lowest since Truman was in office. And, to ‘deregulate’ government so that corporations like BP and other Oil Barons can ‘profit’ as much as they so desire, while natural resources and the environment, e.g. Gulf of Mexico, continue to be wasted???

Honestly – Mr. Frank – I do not understand your reasoning for supporting or advocating the modern ‘conservative’ view? Economically, you are way off … and on the other hand, it appears that your vote is based on whether the candidate is pro- or anti- Muslim. Is this American, or is it pure ‘White Protestant’ Thinking?

Sigh.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lengthy comment. I’ll not argue with you on all of those informative examples regarding Medicare and what not. The one thing that lacks, however, is: who is committing this fraud and why? “Hiring the wrong people” … is not the answer I seek. I would gather rather that it is the system, the top-down control, that has run amok and continues to swindle every dime from the tax payer. It is an atrocity to see such wasteful spending. Whether one blames this on government, or on the corporate health care system, or whomever, it is hard to imagine all three (or more) are involved. The bottom line, Mr. Feldman, is that the top-down control sees all things, all aspects of life as reduced to one item: profits.

I disagree with you regarding regulation/deregulation. If the Fed gov’t had regulated BP much more strictly, BP would not have drilled as deep as it has in this particular situation, thus, the resulting explosion would have been prevented. I’ll not go into more detail, but of course, the Fed gov’t will waste time, $ and energy attempting to clean up what a negligent corp. has brought to the Gulf Shore.

And, I’ll not bother regarding the militant Islamic world / Israel economic issues, because I do not believe Israel ought to be a State or a Nation. Rome sacked Judea in 70 AD, destroyed much of what was left over from the captivity of that once mighty nation of Israel … no Temple, no Priesthood, no ceremonial sacrifices to Jehovah, etc. It is nothing more than a political boundary … and people have been fighting over this so-called sacred city of יְרוּשָׁלַיִם

What amazes me however, Mr. Feldman, is how long it took you to reach your final paragraph … and upon reading it, you’ve not convinced me of anything related to why Mr. Frank is ‘right on target’. Bill Randall is just another ‘preacher standing behind a political palpit’ who say this or that to those who have itching ears! Randall is just another GOP’er / Neo-Liberal Authoritarianist, who thinks that entrepreneurship and sound business activity are the essentials to the American way of Life … that businesses and individuals in America dream of nothing more than establishing their own private kingdoms, and who mainly value success as a symptom of victory, and those who desire nothing less than the will to prove oneself superior to others.

Mr. Feldman, your final wish may in reality come true, that more people like Mr. Randall will run for public office, and subsequently, the economic woes and ultra-damnable debt of the USA will continue. The only difference between the Bush Administration and the Obama administration is the stage curtain. No change has occurred … and all we should expect this fall election are new editions to the marionettes and dancing chickens.

If you can show me how entrepreneurship and modern business activity can lead America out of the wilderness, back to the promised Land, where the American dream resides, I’d like to see it!

In the meantime, the current modern business activity of outsourcing jobs to China and elsewhere, government’s focusing and exploitation of all our highly respected military personnel to defeat mujahideen, and the environmental disaster in the Gulf of Mexico sure of positive signs that capitalism is alive and kicking … sigh.

Read Acts 2:44-45 and tell me that ‘collective action’ or ‘collective responsibility’ on the part of people cannot work! If America is a Christian Nation, and for the most part, I believe there are many people in this country who affiliate themselves with Christianity, I do not see how individualism is a christian trait !!!

No, I never said socialism and communism are the answers. I would say Anarcho-syndicalism may in fact be a vast improvement on how the economy should be regulated, on how people ought to treat others … with common human decency, instead of turning every living baby born every second into a wage laborer down the road !!

Frank … gotta do better than that … especially with what Mr. Frank or Mr. Feldman speak of !!
